Two brothers dead. Two sisters mourning.
A decree has been made by King Creon. Eteocles will be given funeral rites and buried with full military honours but his brother Polynices will remain unburied on the battlefield and left for the scavangers to feast on. The passing of this law sets in motion a chain of events that leads to the most tragic end. A family feud of the worst kind. A battle of the sexes. Antigone tells the story of one woman’s fight to take on the state and right a wrong. Can there be any winners?
VWNC Performing Arts students present this retelling of Sophocles' classic play.
